Are You Willing to Risk it All <\/em>to Have it ALL?<\/em><\/h2>\n

I had the most amazing breakthrough<\/em> on the way to the Women\u2019s Success Summit<\/a> on Tuesday morning.\u00a0 I was rehearsing in my head what I was going to say to the ladies who attended the Mini-Mastermind I was conducting that is based on our upcoming Webinar Seminar for professional women and entrepreneurs:\u00a0 Having it ALL: Being \u201cThe Invincible Woman at Work and \u201cThe Irresistible<\/b> Woman in Your Love Life!<\/i><\/a><\/p>\n

I was thinking about some of the reasons why many beautiful, successful, passionate women either do not enjoy dating, have not attracted the man with whom they want to share their lives, or, if they are<\/em> in relationships, feel like there is something \u201cmissing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Why is it that these amazing women feel more fulfilled in their careers than they do in their romantic relationships?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

We go over a lot of reasons for this in the seminar<\/a>, but one of the main reasons is the need to take a risk<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0 Yes, we take risks in business: We risk our time and money.\u00a0 But the risk is different<\/i> when it comes to relationships.\u00a0 In love, we have to be willing to take emotional risks<\/i><\/b>. And, for some of us, risking a broken heart is scarier<\/em> than making an investment of thousands of dollars in our businesses!\u00a0 It\u2019s why many of us throw<\/i> ourselves into our careers, say we don\u2019t have time to date or be in a relationship, and feel that men are \u201cintimidated\u201d by our success.<\/p>\n

This fear of taking an emotional risk is really about the fear of being vulnerable<\/em>.\u00a0 And it\u2019s why we spend a lot of time in the seminar focusing on distinguishing the fears and doubts that are stopping us from attracting the man who\u2019s right for us and on identifying the skills that serve us really well in business, but can kill<\/i> the intimacy in our relationships!<\/p>\n

As I was thinking of the risks I\u2019ve taken in my life, to give as examples, for some reason, getting laid off from my job last year popped into my head.\u00a0 I was confused!\u00a0 For over a year, I\u2019ve been working on getting \u201ccomplete\u201d with having lost my job.\u00a0 I forgave, got to a place of gratitude, and am so happy to be doing what I feel I was born to do <\/i>\u2013empowering women to have the relationships of their dreams \u2013 full-time, instead of \u201con-the-side,\u201d like I used to!\u00a0 And yet\u2026 there were still times when I\u2019d feel sad or upset about it. So I kept asking myself: What did getting laid off (something I didn\u2019t want) have anything to do with taking a risk?\u00a0 <\/i><\/p>\n

And that\u2019s when I felt like my world shifted and I saw what I hadn\u2019t been able to see before!<\/p>\n

What I finally saw was that, when HR called to let me know they were eliminating my position, they didn\u2019t<\/span> call to let me go<\/i>!\u00a0 They actually offered me another position so that I would stay<\/em>\u2026 making the same incredible salary\u2026 and they offered it to me three times <\/i>over the course of a month!<\/b><\/p>\n

And each time, I<\/span> said, \u201cNo!\u201d <\/i>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Why?<\/i>\u00a0 Because the position \u00a0would require 80% travel\u2026 80% of the time away from my husband and family\u2026 80% of the time away from working with women, writing, speaking, and doing the things that I am passionate and excited about doing. 80% of the time hating what I was doing because I did not want <\/i>to travel and be away from the people and the things that I love!<\/p>\n

I<\/span> said, \u201cNo!\u201d \u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I took a HUGE risk! I risked a very comfortable salary and lifestyle because something was more important to me: My marriage, my family, and my freedom.\u00a0 I chose to risk the comfort of a job and the sense of security for the uncertainty of owning my own business. \u00a0And, emotionally<\/em>, I took a huge risk when I chose to trust that my husband was capable enough to handle stepping into the role of primary bread-winner, and \u00a0to allow myself to be taken care of<\/i> \u2013 something I\u2019d been doing for myself since I was 17!<\/p>\n

I chose to risk it all<\/i><\/b> so that I could have it ALL<\/span><\/i><\/b>!<\/p>\n

When I got that \u2013 When I got that I<\/span> chose<\/span> to<\/span> say<\/span> \u201cNo!<\/span>\u201d <\/i><\/b>\u2013 All of the discomfort, upset, and \u201cvictimization\u201d I\u2019d been carrying around over having been \u201clet go\u201d completely disappeared! <\/i><\/b>I started laughing and crying at the same time (not the safest thing to do while driving, but I was overcome with joy!) In fact, I was so moved, I had to call my mentor, Luly B.<\/a> (who empowers mom entrepreneurs to get over our guilt and our fears and step into our lives) and tell her that I finally<\/em> got that I had taken a risk and chosen ME so that I could have it all in life, family and business!<\/p>\n

The same is true when it comes to relationships.\u00a0 When we are willing to step outside of our comfort zones\u2026 When we put aside our limiting beliefs about ourselves, men, and relationships\u2026 And when we feel the fear and uncertainty of taking an emotional risk, and we do it anyway<\/em>\u2026\u00a0 We get to choose<\/b> our lives and what our hearts truly desire!\u00a0 We get to experience the love, peace, joy, and wonder of loving and knowing<\/strong> that we are loved<\/strong> every day for the rest <\/span>of our lives<\/strong><\/i>!<\/p>\n

And that<\/em>, ladies, is worth all the risk!<\/i><\/p>\n
