by Gladys Diaz\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If you\u2019re dating, you\u2019ve probably heard the term \u201cred flag.\u201d But do you know what a real \u201cred flag\u201d is?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Do you know what you should be watching out for while dating?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Do you know what things make a man \u201cundateable\u201d?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You may be surprised to hear that there aren\u2019t really that many \u201cred flags.\u201d There are some things that you want to be paying attention to, and that\u2019s what we want to focus on today.<\/span><\/p>\n While dating, you want to have an open mind and an open heart while still noticing whether or not a man is \u201cdatable.\u201d You want to allow yourself to fall in love with someone while not allowing the chemistry or the attraction to be the driving factor.<\/span><\/p>\n So, what are some real \u201cred flags\u201d you want to watch out for?<\/b><\/p>\n Why is this important to pay attention to?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If someone is willing to date you while they are still in a relationship with someone else, he\u2019s already telling you something about his character.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We have worked with women who were dating someone who was \u201cleaving\u201d their partner, and then 2 years, 4 years, <\/span>even 7 years down the road<\/span><\/i> ,<\/span><\/i> they are still with that other person. Waiting for <\/span>him <\/span><\/i>to choose them!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You don\u2019t want to set yourself up to lose in dating.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n When you hear that someone is in a relationship with someone else and you don\u2019t see that as a red flag, it has to do with your worthiness.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You deserve someone who can and is willing to\u00a0 fully commit to you, And, if you catch yourself pushing that thought to the side, making excuses for him, or justifying his situation to yourself and others, then you get to ask what\u2019s going on for you and why you\u2019re not seeing that you deserve more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The thought that would come up for me when I was allowing myself to ignore this read flag was <\/span>\u201cIf they have that many options and they want to be with me, then there must be something really special about me.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n Can you hear the unworthiness in that question?<\/span><\/p>\n The thing is that this person <\/b>couldn\u2019t <\/i><\/b>commit himself fully to you even if he wanted to because he\u2019s still committed to someone else<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If he\u2019s willing to be with you while still being with someone else, why would he stay committed to you down the road?<\/span><\/p>\n If you\u2019re involved with a man who\u2019s involved with someone else, it\u2019s time to reach out for support so that you can make a choice the empowers you and is aligned with your dream of a happy, loving relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n 2. A man that has an active addiction.<\/span> Regardless of what the addiction is, whether it\u2019s alcohol, drugs, pornography, food, gambling, etc, this is a red flag.<\/span><\/p>\n Why is this important to look out for?<\/span><\/p>\n When someone has an active addiction to something, that thing will always be the priority in his life. <\/span>That means that <\/b>you <\/i><\/b>will <\/b>not<\/i><\/b> be the priority in his life<\/b>. It\u2019s not that he\u2019s a \u201cbad person,\u201d it\u2019s that he has a problem that takes over his\u00a0 reasoning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You want to make sure that you\u2019re aware and awake and that you\u2019re not blinded by infatuation, desperation, chemistry, or attraction when choosing who to date and fall in love with.<\/span><\/p>\n Too many women mistakenly believe that if they love the man enough, wait long enough, or help him enough, he will choose them over his addiction.\u00a0 It\u2019s a really painful game to play, and one where the woman usually does not win.<\/span><\/p>\n Notice your thoughts.Are you pushing something away? <\/span> Ignoring a problem is never the same thing as resolving it.\u00a0 If you\u2019re pushing these thoughts away, it\u2019s time to reach out for support.<\/span><\/p>\n 3. A man that is physically or emotionally abusive.<\/span> Is the man\u00a0 you\u2019re with constantly criticizing you, cutting you down or making you the brunt of his jokes? Does he refuse to take responsibility for things and turn everything back around on you?<\/span><\/p>\n Does he push, grab, or hit you?
