by Gladys Diaz\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s your initial reaction when a girlfriend offers to pay for your lunch?\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n What do you respond with when someone offers you a compliment?\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n What do you say when a man offers to help you out with something?\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n As we\u2019re in this holiday season of love, sharing and connecting we wanted to shed some light on a topic that most women don\u2019t think of as something that\u2019s holding them back in love, but that is <\/span>key to creating the relationship of your dreams.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n In our work with thousands of women, we\u2019ve found that for many of us, it\u2019s hard to <\/span>receive<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n We work with so many women who want to create a loving, connected relationship with an incredible partner, but then can\u2019t accept a compliment when given, don\u2019t feel comfortable allowing a man to pay for dinner on a date, or don\u2019t know how to graciously receive a gift.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Can you relate?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Why does it feel uncomfortable to accept things from others?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n There\u2019s vulnerability to receiving.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You can only experience love and intimacy to the level that you\u2019re willing to be vulnerable, which is why it\u2019s so important to be able to receive well.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n The three things that are the most important to men are being able to:<\/span><\/p>\n 1) Please<\/span><\/p>\n 2) Protect\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 3) Provide\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If you\u2019re unable to receive from a man, it\u2019s impossible for him to feel connected to you. He will either feel unappreciated and stop trying or he will interpret your behavior to mean you\u2019re not interested.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n So\u2026 if you notice that you feel uncomfortable receiving, the next couple of weeks are the perfect time to practice!\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n First, get curious about why receiving makes you uncomfortable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In most cases, it\u2019s a worthiness conversation.<\/span><\/p>\n You may have a belief that you have to \u201cdo\u201d something in order to \u201cearn\u201d love\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You may think that you don\u2019t <\/span>deserve<\/span><\/i> certain things.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You may believe you\u2019re simply not good enough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Whatever the underlying reason, get clear on where that feeling comes from for you so that you can break through it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Then, take the opportunity this holiday season to stretch into allowing others to contribute to you, give to you and receive with grace and gratitude.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Being able to receive with grace and gratitude is the way to a man\u2019s heart.
