by Gladys Diaz\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Do you have a relationship from the past that you haven\u2019t fully let go of?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Is there someone that is still holding a piece of your heart?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Maybe it wasn\u2019t even a recent break-up, maybe it\u2019s been two years, three years or even ten years ago, and it\u2019s still blocking you from moving forward in love.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If this is you, we hear you! It can be so frustrating when you want to run freely forward without anything from the past holding you back,\u00a0 but just seem to be stuck.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If this is you, we know that you want<\/i> to get unstuck (otherwise, you wouldn\u2019t be reading this right now), but you just don\u2019t know how.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The first step in letting someone from the past go is understanding how holding onto that person and relationship is impacting you now, in the present. Whenever there\u2019s something from the past that\u2019s still in your space, it won\u2019t\u00a0 allow you to move forward.\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n And how else is it impacting you?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n To uncover the impact the past is still having on you, first look at your results.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What are you currently experiencing?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Are you going on dates or are you holding back?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If you are going on dates, are you enjoying the process?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Look at your last couple of dates. Are there patterns that are presenting themselves?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Is there something wrong with every single person<\/i> you\u00a0 go\u00a0 <\/span>out with?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Are you not attracted to anyone<\/i>?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Do you feel disconnected, and, immediately during or after every date,feel like he\u2019s definitely not the one?<\/span><\/p>\n No,\u00a0 you\u2019re not going to be attracted to or want to date\u00a0 every single person you meet. It\u2019s natural to not be interested in every single man you go on a date with. But, if it seems you aren\u2019t feeling it for anyone <\/i>then\u00a0 you may be holding onto someone from the past.<\/span><\/p>\n Recently a client expressed frustration with this very thing. She said that while she\u2019s dating, she finds herself comparing every single guy\u00a0 to her ex. She said he was the best boyfriend and that it was the best relationship she\u2019d ever had. I lovingly pointed out to her that it couldn\u2019t have been \u201cthe best,\u201d because they\u2019re not together anymore, and that there was a reason for that. There\u2019s a reason that it didn\u2019t work out, and as long as she keeps romanticizing this past relationship and putting that man on a pedestal, she will never have space for the right man — the one who really will be the best!<\/span><\/p>\n Sound familiar?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n If you find yourself having this experience, it\u2019s time to get curious<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Ask yourself,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s really going on here?\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n Why am I not feeling connection?\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n Why am I never attracted to anyone?\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s really holding me back?<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n Get curious\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n You will start to discover your blind spots by saying, \u201cI wonder…\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI wonder if I\u2019m still holding onto the past?\u201d\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI wonder why I can\u2019t let go?\u201d\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI wonder what that person represents for me?\u201d\u00a0<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI wonder if I\u2019m afraid to move on?\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n When it comes to breakups, it\u00a0 would be weird if you didn\u2019t miss someone that you once spent time with, and it\u2019s normal to take time to grieve. However, sometimes we think that the longer we grieve or the more time we stay stuck, the more validation we give to the relationship. But, how much more time do you want to waste staying safe and alone?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n It\u2019s okay to love someone and let them go.<\/span><\/p>\n Letting someone go does not invalidate the love you shared with him, the memories you created together, who he is\u00a0 as a person, or the lessons the relationship taught you.\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n And, just because you shared an incredible love once, doesn\u2019t mean you can never find it (or something even MORE incredible) again.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n When I lost my first husband and then found Ric, I realized that there\u2019s more than just one \u201cThe One.\u201d There are multiple people on this planet that can make you happy and love you forever!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n But only if you are open to it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Only if you are willing to do the HeartWork to bring the past to a close, release it from your mind AND your heart, and open the door to welcome the new love that\u2019s already waiting for you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I promise you, there\u2019s a love out there that\u2019s even bigger and better than that person from the past. Someone even bigger and better than you can even imagine.
